Where to Stay
Beldi Country Club
Stay right at our wedding venue! Beldi offers charming rooms and suites surrounded by beautiful gardens, traditional Moroccan architecture, and a relaxed countryside setting — all just steps away from the Saturday celebration. While it’s the most convenient choice for the wedding itself, keep in mind that Beldi is about a 20-minute drive from the Medina, so it may be less ideal if you’d like to stay close to Marrakech’s main attractions.
Riads
Experience authentic Moroccan hospitality by staying in a riad — a traditional Moroccan house, often centuries old, built around a central courtyard. Riads can be booked privately for your group or shared with other guests (similar to a boutique hotel). Many come with staff who prepare meals (including authentic Moroccan breakfasts) and can help arrange transport or activities.
Hotels
For those who prefer contemporary comfort, modern hotels in Morocco offer all the amenities you'd expect — from pools and spas to 24/7 concierge service. They're a great option if you'd like the ease of international standards blended with Moroccan hospitality, plus convenient transport arrangements to and from the venues.
A few lovely places may not have accurate availability on booking.com, so we always recommend also checking with hotels directly
Tips
Morocco
Currency: The Moroccan Dirham (MAD). ATMs are easy to find, and most hotels/restaurants accept credit cards — though smaller shops and taxis often prefer cash.
Getting Around: Taxis and ride-share apps like inDrive make transport simple. Ask for taxis to use the meter or negotiate fares in advance.
Customs: Morocco is a Muslim country, so modest dress is appreciated. In general, Marrakech is very international and relaxed, but covering shoulders/knees is respectful when visiting traditional areas.
Things to Do
- Explore the Medina's winding souks and hidden courtyards
- Visit Majorelle Garden and Yves Saint Laurent Museum
- Take a quad bike ride or camel trek in the desert
- Day trip to the Atlas Mountains for hiking and Berber villages
- Relax in a traditional hammam (steam bath & spa)
- Hot air balloon ride at sunrise over Marrakech's countryside
Food & Drink
Marrakech has incredible dining, from street eats to trendy restaurants. A few favorites:
- Terrasse des Épices – Relaxed rooftop dining in the Medina, perfect for sunsets and Moroccan-fusion plates
- Al Fassia – Family-run restaurant renowned for authentic Moroccan cuisine and warm, traditional hospitality
- Rooftop El Fenn – Stylish rooftop with panoramic views, cocktails, and a modern take on Moroccan flavors
- Kabana Rooftop – Trendy spot with a lively vibe, Mediterranean-inspired dishes, and DJs on weekend nights
- La Famille – Hidden garden setting with a vegetarian Mediterranean-style set menu
- Le Jardin – Lush courtyard dining in the Medina, combining Moroccan classics with a laid-back atmosphere
- Dar Yacout – Iconic palace restaurant offering a lavish, multi-course Moroccan feast
- Comptoir Darna – Dinner, cocktails, and live entertainment in a vibrant, lounge-style setting
Don't miss Moroccan mint tea, tajines, couscous, and pastries. Alcohol is available at many restaurants, hotel bars, and lounges (though it may be less visible in shops due to local culture).
Frequently Asked Questions
Gifts
Your presence at our wedding is the only gift we wish for. We kindly ask that no gifts be brought. For those who still wish to contribute, you may make a donation to a fund managed by Mehdi’s mum, which supports charity projects in remote areas of Morocco — including building schools, orphanages, and wells.
Payment details will be shared closer to the date.
Event Times
Friday, April 17 - Welcome Drinks: Evening (exact times TBD)
Saturday, April 18 - Wedding:
Mid-afternoon until late
(exact times TBD)
Sunday, April 19 - Pool Party: Afternoon (exact times TBD)
Transportation
Parking is limited at the venues. For Saturday, we’ll be organising a complimentary shuttle service from central Marrakech to the wedding venue to make things easy for guests. More details on timing and pickup points will be shared closer to the date.
Taxis and ride-sharing are also widely available in Marrakech. We recommend using the inDrive app (similar to Uber), which allows you to request rides and pay either by card or cash.
Weather & Venues
Most of our celebrations will take place outdoors, with covered areas available if needed. In April, Marrakech enjoys plenty of sunshine and mild daytime temperatures, but evenings can get quite cool: we recommend bringing a light jacket or wrap to stay comfortable after sunset.
Dress Codes
Friday - Welcome Drinks: Smart casual
Saturday - Wedding: Formal attire, cocktail dress. At Moroccan weddings, it’s common for women to wear traditional caftans, while men typically wear suits. There’s no expectation to dress in a particular way — please wear whatever makes you comfortable. For those interested in renting a caftan, our wedding planner recommends L’Art de la Mariée (73, rue Narjis, Bd Prince Moulay Abdellah, Marrakesh, Morocco).
Sunday - Pool Party: Casual chic, swimwear welcome
Children & Nannies
Children are warmly welcome at all events. Please note that Friday evening will be held in more of a bar-style setting, so there may not be much to keep little ones entertained. On Saturday, professional nanny services will be available upon request through the RSVP form, giving parents the option to enjoy the celebrations while their children are cared for nearby.
Food & Drinks
We will be serving a set menu on Satuday, featuring authentic Moroccan cuisine. While the menu is pre-planned, we’ll do our best to accommodate any dietary restrictions or allergies you specify in your RSVP. Alcoholic drinks will also be available throughout all three events, so you can expect both Moroccan flavors and a celebratory toast or three.
Language
Most hotels and venues speak English, and French is widely understood throughout Morocco. Learning a few basic Arabic phrases like "Shukran" (thank you) and "Salam Alikoum" (hello) goes a long way with locals!
